Frequently asked questions
What is the EU inspection (PKK)?
The EU inspection (periodic roadworthiness test, PKK) is a statutory check of the vehicle's road safety and environmental requirements, carried out by approved workshops.
How often does the car need an EU inspection?
Most passenger cars must pass their first EU inspection within 4 years of first registration, and then at least every 2 years. Always check your car's specific deadline with the Norwegian Public Roads Administration (Statens vegvesen).
Read about EU inspection and re-inspection.
What do fault codes 1, 2 and 3 on the EU inspection mean?
Code 1 is a minor fault or defect; the car can be approved without a re-inspection. Code 2 or 3 means the car is not approved and must have a re-inspection. Code 3 means the car may not be driven.
Can I drop off the car outside opening hours?
Yes. The workshop has a digital key box by the entrance. Key drop-off is free of charge. Collection outside opening hours must be arranged in advance and costs NOK 200 if the work has not been prepaid.
Can you help with a rental car while my car is in the workshop?
Yes. If needed, we can help you arrange a rental car via Sixt, Rent-A-Wreck or Bilkollektivet. Availability, price and rental terms are agreed with the rental company.
