A fault code is a clue

A fault code identifies the system in which the car has registered an anomaly, but it does not always identify the part that caused it. A completed diagnosis may therefore require electrical measurements, mechanical checks or testing while the fault is present.

Prices for the first step

Prices include VAT per car. The NOK 1,490 diagnostic test covers reading and printing fault codes. The NOK 2,950 package includes 0.5 hours of fault-finding. Further fault-finding or more time is agreed separately before we continue.

How the diagnostic process works

1. We clarify the symptoms, when the fault occurs and what has already been tried.
2. We read relevant fault codes and available live data from the car.
3. We carry out targeted checks and measurements to confirm the actual cause.
4. We explain the findings and agree a price or estimate before further repairs.

Before your appointment

Provide the registration number, mileage, warning messages and when the fault occurs. Photos of dashboard messages and information about recent work on the car can make the first step more precise.
